ATA - correction class times for September

Attached is a corrected class times.  Please disregard previous email.  The only change effects Wednesday night.  :) 

Also, fantastic attendance tonight.  Everyone really worked hard. 

Self-Esteem "a confidence and satisfaction in oneself"  People with high self-esteem believe in themselves and feel appreciated by others.  The lack of self-esteem makes people insecure.  When we have a high level of self-esteem we surround ourselves with positive people.  We seek mentors, educate ourselves and celebrate our victories and the victories of others.  We must always remember that we are unique.  There is no one else quite like us in the entire universe. ATA September/October event calendar 2016

Attached is the pdf of the September/October event calendar for 2016, all event are subject to change based on staff availability.  The student will be notified by email and announcements if that occurs.

Take a look at the attached pdf for all the happenings for September and October.  Please note we will have a Friday night Kid's Night Out on 9/23/16.  Also our school photographer will be here on Monday/Tuesday September 12-13.  We would like all students photographed for our in-school plaque.  Take care!!!

ATA - closed for Labor Day weekend 9/1 thru 9/5

Reminder we are closed Thursday, September 1 through Monday, September 5 for an extended Labor Day weekend.  Our classes will resume on Tuesday, September 6.  Check your emails over the weekend for the new September - October class times and events.

Enjoy time with family.

By the way - September 1 is our school's 26th anniversary!!  To celebrate this year, we are taking the day off!!  :)

ATA - new session and other info

Hello students, congratulations on your awesome testings.  I have heard so many positive reports.  I hope to be back soon.  In Chicago helping my parents through some challenges.

Saturday is the kickoff of our new cycle.  We have two classes tomorrow August 27. 26 year anniversary FUN DAY, Open House and new session kickoff.

10:00 am All Age and Rank Kids 

11:30 am All Rank Teens and Adults

We have some special surprises for class tomorrow, it will include child safety, bullying prevention, basic self-defense and taekwondo training (perfect for you and your sibling or buddy to enjoy as well) .  All Teens and adults, this will be a fitness, martial are focused self-defense and taekwondo fun class.  Remember Saturdays are T-shirt attire.  Come and kick off the new session in style!!  DOORS WILL OPEN AT 9:30 am.

Next week we will be open Monday thru Wednesday (NO CLASS ON THURSDAY DUE TO STAFF CONCERNS- MRS. EWING PLEASE PUT OUT A SIGN ABOUT THIS) and then closed Thursday through the following Monday for Labor day.  Our new class times and events (still working on it) will start for the Tuesday after Labor day).  Follow the current schedule this week.

PLEASE NOTE our photos dates are now on Monday and Tuesday, September 12-13 (our photographer moved up the dates from the end of that week).  Sign up sheets for times will be set out soon.

Next regional tournament is Saturday, October 15 and we just learned the January 2017 tournament date will be the 21st.  Who will put their Songahm Star medal together?  Remember, if you missed the first tournament in August, you will have an opportunity to purchase that piece at the final tournament of the season next April.

ATA - THURSDAY (tonight) SPECIAL SCHEDULE TONIGHT

Tonight, special ATA schedule.

ALL CLASSES CANCELLED EXCEPT FOR ONE CLASS AT 5:30 pm for Tournament Preparation.  If you are registered for Saturday's tournament, please arrive, ready to go at 5:30 pm.  All other classes cancelled.

If you are not signed up for tournament, you may also attend for a tournament style class tonight.  T-shirt attire.  ALL AGES will train at 5:30 pm.  We will go over all aspects of your tournament competition.

ATA updates 8/9/16

Updates:

Shout out to our August campers who are working hard toward their competition this Saturday and their testing at the end of the month.  if you want to polish your skills, there is still time to join us for one or two days yet this week.

Tournament registrations are starting to heat up.  All registrations are done online.  Get registered TODAY for the Regional ATA Taekwondo Tournament this weekend.  The Journey Begins on Saturday, August 13th. at Legacy High School.  Register here: http://bit.ly/region109august2016

Info at www.ataregion109.com  There will be NO ONSIGHT registration this Saturday at Legacy High School.

I'm happy to announce that this year's tournament series will feature a four-part medal.  Each part can be earned by attending/placing (for adults) at each of the region's tournaments.  At the end of the tournament year, you will have a cool medal that fits together.

ATA updates August 2016

Hello ATA!

It felt great to kick off our tournament season.


August special events:

AUGUST SUMMER CAMP - August 8-12 "it's just taekwondo camp" is next week from 10-2 pm each day, we still have a couple of openings for only $99 for the entire week, open to kids (7+) Karate Kids, Teens and Adults.  Each day we will feature everything you need to be great for this cycle and the August tournament competition.  Come for one or all days.  Daily rate is $35.  Bring your own lunch.  Each morning will start with an extended taekwondo class for your individual needs, thereafter each day we will spend some time on your protech weapon, boards, sparring and combat.  Gonna be a great week.

FIRST TOURNAMENT OF THE SEASON: AUGUST 13, 2016 LEGACY HIGH SCHOOL
The regional tournament team is looking for volunteers to help set up Friday night August 12, and volunteers for a variety of duties o the day of the event, including JUDGES!!  Our new system for the region is that each tournament is now hosted by the region, not an individual school.  We need you!!  All adult black belt judges, all legacy students, all leaders.  Be a part of something bigger than yourselves.  Get involved.

DEADINE TO REGISTER FOR TESTING IS AUGUST 16  On August 17 we plan to order all the belts, patches, etc. as we would like to do AWARDS on the same night as testing.  We don't want your child to be left out.  See Mrs. Ewing asap to finalize your testing registrations.  Ask how you can save 25% of your next year's testing fees.

August 24 - 5:30 pm all TIGERS; 6:30 pm ALL COLORED BELT KARATE KIDS 12 AND YOUNGER PLUS AWARDS FOR EACH GROUP.

PHOTO DAYS - Remember we have our bi-annual photo shoot September 15-16.  Participate in the August testing this month, upgrade your rank, get a new fresh uniform with all your patches sewn on so you look sharp for the 2016 snapshot of our school's enrollment.

ATA updates

Hi students, please finalize your registrations for Saturday's in-school mini tournament!!  So far we have 14 students taking it to the next level.  I'd love to see at least 20-25.  Great training ground to become a champion competitor and a champion judge and time keeper.  Perfect practice, makes perfect technique.

Tonight regular classes.  The school will open about 5 tonight.  Bring your A game.

Parent committee, please bring in your food, snacks tonight so we can have a fun snack area for Saturday.  Thank you!!

Ms. Valdez, Mrs. Ewing please get out the in-school tournament score cards, etc. so we can check what we still need.  Thanks.
