Hi students, a couple of updates.
Tonight is the last day to practice before our two nights of testing
begin. REMINDERS, be careful not to "overpractice" breaking boards,
especially the night before your testing. It is BEST to practice the
technique on a padded target and memorize how your muscles feel, don't let
a bruised foot or ego mess with your testing experience. Just aim,
follow-trhough and yell!
Also, in order to participate in any promotional testing event, your ATA
card (must be in good standing - this is the annual $49 fee due to ATA
HQ). This is non-negotiable. We are unable to process your testing, this
national ATA membership also insures you receive the magazine, are covered
by trhe ATA insurance and we are able to "actually" process your rank. If
you card is expired, it must be brought current asap (see Justine
tonight!) before you will be allowed to test. Also, your membership dues
to our school must bne current to participate in all activites of the ATA.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I sincerely appreciate it.
Some of you are aware I have been travelling to Washington D.C. for the
national ATA Protech and Leadership Camp. I will have much to share when
I return. I also took a long overdue couple of days to spend with my
husband and touring the history of our country. With that said, I will be
judging the student's with "fresh eyes and ears" this Wednesday and
Thursday night, BRING IT! Answer up and show me and the other judges your
best technique, attitude, focus and martial art tenancity.
On Wednesday night after Red/Black testing we will be saying goodbye (for
a little while) to our own Ms. Lexie Runge and she and her fiance relocate
to Colorado Springs. I would like to invite all students to attend the
high rank test night and give her your best wishes!
ALS Ice Bucket Challenge - yes I have been challenged and I plan to do it
Wednesday night after testing in the parking lot out front. Perhaps a
couple of other instructors will join me as well, but I will be wet
nonetheless! Especially now that I have announced it. Anyway, see you
all soon. ATA Strong.
