Happy Monday - this is Week 2 of our 8 week cycle. This week we will begin to work on major segments of our current forms, the parts of the new ATA Fit test, the elements of "Direction" and "Rotation" from our proper technique lists and begin thinking about our next set of new board breaks for this cycle.
Attention Brown and Red Belts, if you haven't already done so, this is the time to do your "Why do I want to be a black belt reports?" This will be a typed or written report at least 3-5 pages long featuring "you", pictures may be included. See. Sr. Master Black for the requirements of this report which will be due at or before the April promotions.
As this is our 25th Anniversary Year, we will be doing a number of celebrations throughout the year up until our anniversary month which is September. We kicked off our celebration with the black belts this past weekend featuring a dinner and gathering with some black belts that trained with us over the last 25 years. While not all of them could make this one event, I have heard from countless folks from around the country and globe who are a part of our ATA family. I thank them for reaching out. Below are a few pics from the event. More events to follow!!
Pick up the new ATA school tshirt made specially for our anniversary year. Kid's if you also register for one of our summer camps DURING MARCH, the shirt is FREE. Early bird camp registration is $150 thru May 22. Tshirts on their own are $20 including tax.
Good luck to our ATA Vegas Nationals competitors, Mr. Mike Mortensen, Mrs. Kim Anderson, Mrs. Kat Kenney, Mrs. Valdez - also GOOD LUCK to Mr. Mortensen as he tests for his 4th degree black belt.
We are open for all regular classes this week including Saturday.
Housekeeping: Student, Jake Davis, is missing two black ssahng jeol bongs (nunchuks). Please check your bags and "make sure" they aren't in there - his name is on them. Sometimes items have been tossed unwittingly into the wrong bag (since they all look alike). Thank you. We should always respect each others belongings at all times.
Beginning immediately, all bags left in the school are left at their own risk. It would probably be best if all students kept their bags at home and bring them to your class.
Also congratulations to our Black Belt testers and midtermers, results of those who attended the black belt celebration are below:
A. Valdez - 1BR
N. Vuong - 2BR
